In the late 1990s Stony Stratford had a fantastic live music culture. This song, was a standard and requested at least once a week. The fact it's about local events, was one of the attractions, but the music and the lyrics are superb. We lost one of our local song writers John Close to motor neurone disease during this period, and I still remember his guitar accompaniment to this ballad. A fantastic (but moving) song, lovely memories of sessions in the Bull and other pubs and the wonderful company of talented musicians.

I love this album. Its the best one with the 4 piece I think. Fun stuff!

This all “male” voice version has definitely been slowed down. Why? The original is at a faster tempo and has Sandy Denny singing in in it. This version doesn’t. Why? Also there no pictures of her. Why? Sad.

Saw this amazing band in the early 70s in Glasgow's Greens Playhouse with Genesis being the support band. What a fabulous night it was.

What a pairing of voices! Moondie came from a classical opera background yet has this incredible ease of taking a tune on unique and gorgeous meanders. I love how he sings. And not at all surprised he and Linda worked out a chance to blend their talents together. I wonder if she heard his ethereal "High Sierras" before she recorded her fabulous version on Trio II with Emmylou and Dolly. Linda sings with the same perfection as Moondie. What a blessing to all of us these songs are recorded for us to enjoy forever. Thank you for posting. <3

What a brilliant band

None of us are young anymore but I hope we still cherish our youth in our hearts. I am so glad I lived the life I lived, from wandering around the world for years to marrying and having 4 beautiful children. 45 years married to the same guy.
